New member from Stockton Ca

Post by HoCarina1973 »

I came across this forum from googling about my 1973 Toyota Carina I just got. The previous owner didn't take car of her. I'm new to fixing cars and thought this site would be a good learning tool. I emailed the site administrator, but with no luck. I wanted to nag the site admin. I have patience, so I bought a Haynes repair manual. Something about 80's supra rims appealed to me. On Craigslist was a person parting an 80's supra. Up for sale were rims. I texted the 916 number. It was a great deal. And he claimed to be a reputable person in the sac car community. I know nothing about toyota subculture. Then he texted me his name.....it was Mike. I recognized the name immediately and sent payment thru PayPal. Not only did I pick up my rims, he got me the membership for this community! Very Cool and knowledgeable guy.

here are pics of my carina, it needs a lot of work. i was depressed when a local body shop qouted me around 13K for just body work and paint job. then Mike said, "screw it, the heart and soul of the car is the engine!" i couldn't justify all my money going to the body. i know its important too, but somethings gotta give. enjoy

Take your time and invest slowly in your parts, get your rebuilding info and pick a point to start. You have a rare item now so your efforts will justify dollars spent.
