I aquired my celica around 1988. Picked it up for $900. The ac worked, it was in very good condition. It was stock but repainted an early version of a flip flop purple/indigo metal flake. I think the paint kept it from disintegration.
The celica was my fifth car starting with a 68 gran prix, 71 satelite, 77chevette, 82 gran prix. It still is a favorite of mine, it was a daily driver from 88 to 2002.

Alright current condition:
tires still holding air
antique plate
exhaust leak
oil leak front seal
paint fading to origional silver
the last time i had it smogged i told 'em 500000 miles

I usually run it a couple of times a year. Top the oil, give it a shot of ether and it starts. I run a couple of times around the neighborhood till its warm and park it. I love the balance of the car, drivers view and position. I have recently been budgeting some time....love to be road worthy again!

The 'non 5mph bumpers' are known here as smilies. Apparently they are rarer then hen's teeth in the US. Better available in Australia and Europe, but shipping will kill you.
There's a dude here who makes decent fg replicates though, look for Foxau2 in the vendor section.
