Datsun S30 owner new to 1stGen Celica

Post by 70 Cam Guy »

Hi all,

I am Andy, my first post here on 1st Gen, though many of you already know me as that guy that's always at Performance Options. While I don't have a Celica, I do love the old school Japanese cars and I know there are a lot of old skool meets mentioned here. I like going to the meets and talking cars. I do have an '87 Toyota pickup that's a rock crawler project so I definitely have love for the Toy's and the 22R

I am never good at message board introductions. I have been on various boards for years and this name goes way back to CamaroZ28.com and my '70 Camaro. I kept this name as I went because I am unoriginal with screen names and figured I'd get confused if I changed it

My Z car is a '73 that I've installed early carbs on, header, ZX alternator (int regulator) and it has the 280ZX electronic distributor. My recent work was electrical repair after losing the former external voltage regulator on the way to JCCS. I am currently working on a spare set of struts to section for coil overs and Energy bushings. I love the car, it has 51K original miles, and the previous owner is a long-time acquaintance of my dad. The po's late father owned it before he passed and it sat in the garage for 15 years. I am proud that I could give it new life and can't wait to show it to the PO again.

I consider them a lucky find

Thanks for the warm welcome guys and thanks for the compliments.

Ver, the car is finally back in action. When that voltage regulator failed, it took out my Facet fuel pump, every bulb that was on (flashers, dash bulbs), melted the dash bulb sockets, melted the accessory relay (inop heater), and the Optima was toast. It took the most time to figure out why the heater wasn't working. The updated ZX alternator should keep things under control from now on with the internal regulator. I also installed an MSD coil for some more juice and it doesn't need the ballast resistor.

I still have dreams of triple Mikuni 44's from Wolf Creek... all in good time, suspension is first 8)

I'll be there 8)

I am there enough that some people are surprised when I say that I don't work there. I had to keep pc and I'm that dude at the shop, the baak... :lol2:

Thanks Miles, I am loving the car. I think more than anything the sound makes me want to drive it even more. These last couple nights I've been looking for seats that will go on my nice-to-have list

Did you guys get the email from JCCS? Looks like they got their gallery up
