Post by silica »

Hello all, Newbie here in Winchester,CA. Just bought a 77 Celica GT Liftback. I need usual restoration parts like, black interior, including headliner and door panels. Weather striping and front/rear window rubber. Anyone converted to flush-mount glass ? Anyone converted to irs. or t-axel ? Anyone swapped-in alum. V8? I built one for friend in 1983 ,for same kind of car,ran pretty good. Thanks for the help. Art. :ohyeah:

#1 = circa 62' Buick block-resleeved to 3.736" bore with billet alum. main caps. 64' Buick 300" heads with bigger valves. #2= pictures doubtfull, maybe easier to find Steve McLeod, formerly of Mission Viego, C.A., his car. :banghead2:

Actually, it was pretty clean.. Way-back in 83', engine swaps were,"allowed" and you smogged to the year of motor. As I understand now, or not, swapped-in motor needs to be +/- one year of vehic le, in CA.? You meet emission standards for whichever is newer? Art. :shades:

Pretty much stock suspension, except for the axle change.

All the weight is up front becasue of the 7m, and my tiny tires don't hook up at all.

I think my best 60' time was like 2.1 or 2.1, which sucks, but not too bad on 195 wide tires

It is a lot faster this year though, expecting some 120+mph trap speeds

I mite be off-here, but I have a "Chijuhua" that runs on nitous- and he thinks he can be your 60' times! But reelly, got drag stuts? Your motor should buzz some rpms- so maybe some "shorter"/fatter slicks for hook-up? art. :screwy:
