77 Celica GT use RallyCross

1977 Celica GT
this is my RallyCross car
got this car from the police auction for $50 and have put over 50,000mi on it
its now used mostly for racing
set up
20R engine
weber 32/36
intake worked , port matched
77 20R head port work, port match, seats blended port & chamber side, combustion chambers worked, all sharp edges removed over whole head, exost ports polished , some metal removed for water passage, EGR tubes removed, exost ports not matched to exost manifold
LC street pro cam
up dated alum. rocker arms worked
MSD & blaster coil
up dated to an 85 Celica GT 5spd Trans

Very awesome, and welcome to the board! Couple of questions.

1: What's with the drawing and symbols all over the head and the valve cover?

2: Is that a 1st Gen CRX one piece CF hood in the background there?

#1 its black magic, and alchemy mostly ... if your not using magic when you race your just not using every advantage you can get ... haha

#2 no , no CRX . what ever that is i kicked it out of my driveway a long time ago

82 Celica GT geting chopped up and the bottem end ( frame and drive train) of a 75 T-Bird put under the celica. thats a 460bigblock
. thats stock- 220HP, 360torque

Now I really would like to see pics of the this good old Ford Celica! Lords knows that drivetrain is going to need a little shortening lol!

i will get some pic of it
i call it a Toyofor Thundica

going to take the body off the T-bird chop down the frame 21" to match the 100" wheel base of the celica
strip every thing from under the celica and plop it on top of the T-bird frame
it will look like a super wide and kina tall celica monster

the Bird is stripped down and all body bolts are out but i think i will have to take it to work to lift the body from the frame . i need it there to cut and weld the frame anyway

this all came about due to misunderstanding scca rally cross rules . was told by rally chairman i could run the t-bird with no hood or frount fenders(the nose is soooo long on the car) take it off and you can see the frount tires and knock off bout 3 feet that can take out cones.
so i riped the frountend off - to much rust to just take apart.
and when the saftey stewert saw it i got a big NO.
there was no way to put it back together again so...

i like the celica with a big block better anyway
