new here, new england resident.

car enthusiast. currently own 99 swapped/built subaru impreza wagon, 87 jeep comanche, 81 honda cb650c, the 77 celica that im here for :woot: and a 96 saturn wagon that im flipping. previously owned a 77 porsche 924, 88 AW11, 96 nissan maxima, 00 dodge durango, 98 acura CL2.3, 93 audi cs90 quattro and an e39 528i. oh.. and im just shy of 22 years old lol

first off, celica.

So i was browsing craigslist bored one night and came across this. ive been selling all of my vehicles, trying to downsize to a daily (my turtle), and a project. ive always been a huge 'yota fan and this one caught my eye!

it was 65 miles away, just across the border into springfield mass. since i pulled my truck off the road (and just sold it ) I called up my dad, and asked to borrow his truck. that, combined with a co-workers car dolly and a road trip from HELL, got this home! what should have been a 2.5 hour round trip turned into 6.5 hours due to torrential downpours, a slipping tranny intermittently losing 3rd gear, lights on the dolly stopping working, dolly pin slipped loose on the ramps and some serious squirrley action from this light, short car towed backwards on the dolly.

got home last night close to 11:20, by the time it was unloaded and i ate dinner my faithful co-pilot and girlfriend and i passed the *@@* out!

got home today from work to a brief spot of sunshine so i pulled the cover off and took a few pictures, did some more snooping around the car itself. it runs and drives fantastically. I got loads of extra parts, everything i need to finish it minus a new windshield. there are small rust spots on the frame and parts of the trunk definetly need repairing, and a suspension mount that needs a little reinforcing. the rockers have some rust underneath, but the floorboards are solid and 90% of the body work has been done. The idiot that owned it two owners before i bought it.. started cutting the top to turn it into a convertible. JACKASS. he stopped when he realized the filler neck and gas cap were on the B pillar :flame:

So, it needs a little here and there, it was originally a gold on tan car, it is now black on black, or is in the process of becoming one.

with the deal i got a set of IMO, perfect, for this car wheels. i need to get some rubber for them, and im not sure of the exact dimensions. just that they're 14 by i believe 7" and HEAVY.

on the list of things to do first is get all the glass situated. i have a brand new rear window, the front windshield needs to be replaced and the side windows need new middle window weatherseals. the interior needs to be put back together. it has a brand new black carpet and the rear seats were reupholstered black and an excellent job was done. the fronts are still tan, and have seat covers on them. i also need to figure out what some of the warning's are that are on the dash. one just says "radiator". it definitely needs a flasher relay and one tail light bulb lol. Also need to figure out how the tach works, or doesnt. maybe its just not hooked up? either way, it reads nothing. theres also one bolt in the water pump that needs to be drilled tapped and replaced because p/o snapped it off while replacing it.

Im just excited that the drivetrain, and most of the body are rock solid. it runs great.. only 47,xxx original miles and it only set me back 1200! ill keep the thread updated.

and my daily

Eventually if I get around to painting it I will probably go with either a deep blue or a white. For now, I am more than content with flat black though

Thanks for the welcome
